A story about my sister

My sister, who died from ovarian cancer 20 years ago, was an Avon lady.  We all used to order products from her, to help her sales, whether or not we really wanted the goods.  I don’t think I have any left now but I think my mother (97) still has some unopened Avon items from those days.  When she died, Avon sent a beautiful bouquet of flowers to the funeral.  My sister also sold Tupperware and, again, we all have things from those days.  Her own kitchen was full of Tupperware boxes (and she always used Avon cosmetics herself).  Even years after she died, and my brother-in-law was re-married, her old house was still full of Tupperware and Avon.  She was a real hoarder of the goods and my Mum too.

A story from a receptionist

I have a sister in law in New Zealand who worked for Avon and is now retired.

When packages were returned damaged to the warehouse the staff were allowed to purchase or have small items.  Thus after 20 plus years this amounted to a ‘magic hamper’ of goodies, a ‘girl’s delight’.

My sister in law is a very sociable person and her guests, grand children and me of course were invited to select something from the hamper.

So I have some extremely well travelled Avon, and Avon Calls over 12,000 miles for me, and I have therefore become a fan for further purchases.
